Nowadays, many household cars are equipped with small displacement turbocharged engines. Nowadays, it is embarrassing to go out without a "T". However, the popularization speed of engine knowledge is obviously not as fast as that of turbocharging. As a result, many people drive turbocharged vehicles as natural suction vehicles. Accidental injuries accumulate over the years and become fatal injuries. Stop immediately, turn off and walk carefully. Supercharger overheating

 

Some people drive turbocharged cars at high speeds and go to the service area to stop and rest immediately. After the engine has been running at high speed for a long time, it should keep idling for 3-5 minutes before shutting down. The reason is that in the process of engine operation, part of the oil is used for lubrication and cooling of bearings in turbochargers. After engine shutdown, oil pressure quickly becomes zero, high temperature oil stays between turbocharger bearings, heat can not be cooled, and after engine shutdown, turbine blades will still run at high speed for a period of time due to inertia reasons. Therefore, the oil left in turbine bearings may be too high because of the high temperature. It causes some damage to the bearing. This will inevitably affect the service life of turbochargers for many years.

 

Lubrication is not in place immediately after landing

 

It doesn't matter whether the hot car is needed or not. With the engine and filter technology, it doesn't matter whether the hot car is not hot. But for turbocharged vehicles, it's still necessary. Especially in cold winter, it should continue idling for a period of time after landing, so that the oil can have enough time for the turbine. The rotors and bearings in the supercharger actuator are lubricated. Don't hit the throttle with big feet after starting. This may cause the oil seal of turbocharger to be damaged and lost sealing because of the poor lubrication.

 

Do turbochargers require no additional maintenance?

 

As we all know, car maintenance is to replace the "three filters", that is, oil filters, gasoline filters and air filters. The turbocharged engine has a stronger requirement for the cleanliness of the inhaled air. With the continuous improvement of oil quality, the conventional maintenance of 5000 km can be delayed continuously, but for turbine engines, it is necessary to clean the air filter on time in a small maintenance cycle, which can prevent impurities such as dust from entering the turbine, resulting in unstable blade speed or accelerated wear and tear of other seals.

 

For various reasons, when you need to dismantle the supercharger and repair the car, you must remember to keep the seals of the joints. You need to plug the joints with clean materials to prevent debris from entering the turbine and damaging the internal structure. In addition, because the turbine blades are running at high speed for a long time, the lubrication system will coke part of the lubricating oil due to high temperature. Therefore, regular cleaning of the pipelines in the lubrication system is also a good vehicle use habit.

 

Especially the turbocharger works in high temperature environment for a long time, so more attention should be paid to its maintenance. Otherwise, such a vicious cycle for a long time will really lead to the scrap of the turbocharger in advance or directly affect the engine power performance.
